And the offense is still a little cold... Except on the goal line.
First, Simeon Rice is here, chatting with Jerry Reese. Reese huddled with team doctor Russell Warren and trainer Ronnie Barnes during practice and left the field, presumably to talk with Rice. I'll try to update that as I get information.
The Strahan Fine Tally is now at six days, or $85,728. That is now officially a lot of dough to just about everyone in the free world.
Now, practice.
Brandon Jacobs bowled into the end zone on the first goal-line drill of camp, taking Antonio Pierce (not Gibril Wilson, as I said in an earlier version of this post) with him. Score one for the offense, which looked slow and befuddled again today. Jacobs didn't find much running room, Eli Manning threw the ball decently when he had time to get rid of it, and almost all the stars were on D:
-- Reggie Torbor led the way with two good plays, one to break up a pass to Jeremy Shockey from Jared Lorenzen in 7-on-7 work and another to stuff a run in team drills. Torbor has worked exclusively with the 2s at SLB, but he's looked very good -- as has second-unit WLB Gerris Wilkinson the last two days. Second-unit MLB Chase Blackburn had a nice run stop today too. All in all, the LBs have been very good.
-- Marcus Bell continues to show the ability to shed blockers. He and Justin Tuck blew up an option pass from Sinorice Moss on and end around.
-- Osi Umenyiora blew past David Diehl twice (and Guy Whimper once), again showing his jump off the snap.
Zak DeOssie sent Ryan Grant to the turf with a huge hit. DeOssie also did the long-snapping today with word that Ryan Kuehl has a severely strained calf muscle that will keep him out a minimum of four weeks, and most likely longer.
It seems doubtful that the Giants will sign another long-snapper. DeOssie and Grey Ruegamer can long-snap and Ruegamer and Jay Alford can short-snap, and they've got five weeks to learn.
Kevin Dockery remains sidelined with a concussion suffered in the first practice on Saturday. Dockery hit his head on the turf after his helmet came off, and he's been suffering headaches and severe light sensitivity -- so much so that he hasn't been able to attend team meetings. He's out indefinitely.
Lawrence Tynes made both his FG tries, from 29 and 37, which Josh Huston missed from 37. TC on Tynes: "He got a little better today, thank you." Guess he needed to improve.
Jeremy Shockey spoke briefly and boringly today, which is just what TC wanted to hear. I'll save that for the paper.
Two practices tomorrow, the first at 8:40 a.m. Update to follow.

Good stuff! It will be interesting to see what happens with Dockerty, now that they had the new concussion rules. With so much close competition at this position, he could be the odd man out.
Very informative, Stapes. Nice to hear the offense finally did something well...you expect the defense to be ahead at this point, but it's getting awfully repetitive. Not worried yet, but it would be nice to hear the offense is progressing at least a little. Sounds like the O-line is having its share of problems so far.
Hey Arthur,
How's Kiwanuka doing?
Awesome blogs this training camp, Arthur. This blog is soooo good that you are bound to make a lot of enemies - especially wannabee bloggers on other websites.
Be careful out there.

Arthur,
Kiwanuka is definetly staying @ linebacker???
Do you think Tuck is up for the job???
Arthur,
I know people ask you all the time what's going on, but how has my buddy Kevin Boss been handling himself up there?
