Currently in-between locker room sessions. Here are some brief notes:
-- Antonio Pierce revealed that he had surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right hand, which he played with all last season. His hand was also broken.
-- Gibril Wilson arrived yesterday. He still hasn't signed his one-year tender, though the deadline to give restricted FAs offer sheets has passed. He'll sign it soon. "I'm on a mission this year," he told me.
-- Much bigger group of players are in town and working out. Sam Madison is one of the newer arrivals. Still no Jeremy Shockey, still no Plaxico Burress. Of Shockey, Pierce said: "He's somewhere in the United States."
-- Brief scouting reports on three of his old Miami teammates from Sinorice Moss... On LB Jon Beason: "Athletic, good hitter, gets to the QB. He'd help us out a lot." On TE Greg Olsen: "He's the real deal. Different than Shockey. Olsen just goes out and plays." On S Brandon Meriweather: "Never afraid to thump somebody, anytime, anywhere."
-- Pierce on new DC Steve Spagnuolo: "I wouldn't call him arrogant, but he's got a little pizzazz about him, walking around here with his shirt open, a little gold chain. He's a real straightforward guy. I've talked to him a lot. I think (his defense) is going to be fun -- you see (Jeremiah) Trotter down there in Philly, he's gone to a couple Pro Bowls when they were together. (Spagnuolo) has something we need around here."
Back with more in a few.

Was there any more context to Sinorice Moss' comments on Olsen and Shockey? Are they different in that they both play hard but Olsen doesn't talk as much?
I am a big Miami Hurricanes fan, but do not see the Giants taking any of the top Miami prospects. The sleeper could be Miami WR Moore who has great potential with the right systems and would be a steal in the 6th or 7th round. He has the size, speed and route discipline to be very good with the right QB. He would be a good fit with the Giants. If I was GM I would take a LB or Defensive Back with the 1st pick and a OT with the second pick.
Man sinorice took a little swing at shockey there...man...maybe there was more to it or he was just saying shockey and him are different...but olsen goes out and plays, to separate things. they arent going to pick moore, they have a guy in the practice squad that is alot like him, Anthony mix. He is like 6-4 and runs good. i hope the first pick is Revis but he wont be there so ill go with chris houston.
Olsen is the best TE in this draft out of default. Its a horrible draft for TE. Sinorice has his own situation to worry about, how bout he takes a page out of Shockey's playbook and play thru pain. Not sure why the Giants draft someone that has a history of injury problems and wasn't that productive in college to begin with. I hope they go Defense with the first pick. We know if worse comes to worse we can plug Diehl in at LT. Who do we plug in at LB/CB? Scary thought.
Giants need to grab Pauly P with their first pick.. This guy is a stud leader that an step in and play immediately...
