So he said on WFAN minutes ago. He just returned from seeing foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte and reported that he has only torn ligaments in the Lisfranc joint of his right foot, not a separation of the bones in the joint that would require surgery and a 6-8 month recovery time.
Had Strahan needed the surgery and the rehab that would have taken at least through 2007 training camp to fully heal, he admitted he might have retired. But he's not, at least not now.
And he said he has grown to like TC. "Did I like him when he first got here? No. I didn't like him one bit," Strahan said. "I didn't think I'd last a season with him."
So he's lasted close to three... But maybe not a fourth, depending on Saturday's result.

Dear Arthur,
My vomit bucket runneth over. There is no reason to believe we’ll win on New Years Eve, but I’ll have my bucket cleaned and ready. I would like to see us get into the playoffs at 7-9; that would be sweet and would almost guarantee a cleaning of house. What’s better than that: a playoff appearance AND they fire Coughlin. One can dream.
It might sound a bit premature, but I’d like to say ‘Thank You” for all you’ve done for us fans this year, Arthur. I mean it. You made this heartbreaking season bearable. It’s so refreshing to read a sports column/blog/opinion from the point of view of a Giants fan. After all, we don’t need sports writers trashing our team when they don’t do well – that’s our job.
This is what I think (With all due respect to Peter King):
I still think Eli will be a very good QB someday (and a team leader).
I wish that in the off-season Plaxico’s car quits on him as many times as he quit on the Giants.
I really miss Amani Toomer.
I love Fred Robbins (in a purely heterosexual-man-to-man-love type of way).
I believe that Coughlin can salvage his NFL coaching career by head-butting Bob Whitfield – twice – and I mean HARD.
I want the Giants to fire the strength and conditioning coach right along with Coughlin, Hufnagel, Gilbride and Lewis.
Here are a few questions for you Arthur:
Is there a record for number of thigh injuries on an NFL team in a single season (both Hamstrings and Quadriceps)? And if so, were the Giants close this year?
What is your assessment of the Umenyora-Kiwanuka tandem? Will these guys be able to fill Michael Strahan’s shoes by next year/the year after that/ someday when he retires?
Is there a college player that we can draft next year that can replace Tiki?
Did you ever hook-up with that hot piece of booty that appears from time to time with you on Giants Online? (Whats-er-name? Wacky broad. Hot. I think she’s from the Yes network.) Please provide details (and diagrams if necessary).
Well, I could go on and on, but I won’t.
Peace.
-Big BB
PS I got so excited reading your musings on Bill Belichik coaching the Giants that hot coffee shot out of my nose. That was just mean, Arthur, and very unbecoming of you. You shouldn’t tease people like that. Someone could get hurt.
Arthur,
Just curious: In your picks today, do you really feel the Redskins are a lock to win or you just flip? If you do think the Redskins are a lock, why?
Thanks.
