The Giants inactives are pretty humdrum: The three who were left home (Webster, Strahan, Petitgout), plus LBs Tyson Smith and Chris Claiborne, WR Michael Jennings and DT Titus Adams.
But the Panthers' list is noteworthy: QB Jake Delhomme, starting CBs Ken Lucas and Chris Gamble and RB Nick Goings. Chris Weinke is in at QB, rookie CB Richard Marshall and little-used Christian Morton are starting in the secondary.

Miami or Bust!!
Ok so The G-men played a bit smarter this time, infact the last two games prior to this as well, then thy did in the first two losses. Even if the play calling was a bit better-172 yards passing Vs a team with a weak group of d-backs isn't very good. Also no rushing TD's this time, and Jacobs looks stuck again when they bring him in. Still not using the TE enough either, even though he scored a TD (Shockey), he was only 6 grabs for 49 yds. But i guess a win is a win is a win...
Arthur,
Why don't the Giants play Lorenzon? This season is a bust, even in the unlikely event that the Giants win out and go one game over .500. This Giants team, particularly the woeful defense, cannot--and if given the opportunity, would not--win a playoff game against anyone.
Lorenzon--like Manning two years ago--needs experience! Moreover, he cannot hurt the Giants any more than Manning has over the course of this season (although this may be due to Hufnagel's predictable play calling). Anyhow, what can the Giants lose? More games?
Arthur,
The Giants' continuing failure to draft linebackers and build a true defense has been catching up to them for the last 10 years. A couple of years ago, the team had to recruit LBs from their couches to step into a playoff game. Despite the resulting debacle, the team still has not taken the position seriously.
Until the organization stops wasting draft picks on receivers who are chronically injured (Tim Carter, Sinorice Moss, Steve Smith) or foolishly discarded (McCaffrey, Jurevicious) and starts using critical picks to build a solid defense rather than buy aging players, Giants' fans will continue to bemoan Manning's mediocrity and the bogus game-changing penalties of underpaid NFL officials.
