No more motivational ploys, no more back-page hysteria... Giants. Cowboys. Bring it.
I said it in the hours after the debacle in Nashville: I thought the Giants would win this game tomorrow, and I still think that, putting aside all the nonsense this week. Here's why:
-- For three quarters, Eli played well last week. No flash, no need for the long heaves that have turned him into a fundamentally unsound thrower -- just short passes and runs. The Giants can win games that way.
-- The three guys back on defense can only help. Reggie Torbor and William Joseph are back where they belong, on the bench, ready to step in and spell the starters. Corey Webster is out, but is that really going to hurt the secondary? Sam Madison and R.W. McQuarters have been by far the best CBs this season, and they'll be needed against Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn. Osi's return is the hugest, though, because the Cowboys may actually worry about a pass rush instead of chuckling every time Willie Joe tried to speed rush.
-- I cannot be wrong every week. Seriously. I gotta get a Giants game right once. Why not now?
Giants 27, Cowboys 17

Did I read right ? For 3 quarters you thought Eli looked good? Are you on drugs?
If its your idea to hide Eli by running and short passing, its not gonna work. First play on O by Eli - he misses Finn bad!! If the Giant D didnt get him 2 turnovers, Eli was pretty nonexistant out there..
Eli didnt..repeat didnt look good for 3 quarters out there, and lets forget about the 4th!
Eli must lead..Eli must throw catchable/accurate passes. Eli cant look scared when rushed. Eli must run for 1st if play breaks down.Eli cannot throw short when receiver is open by 5-10 yards downfield!!
Make or break time for Eli today. If he doesnt exhibit LEADERSHIP today, contrary to what he thinks he has to do, Giants are finished!
why?
why all these throw in the red zone ?
why all these throws on first down, since we cannot complete the heck outof'em
why not feed that Kid Jacobs for pete sake ?
ok he's done one bad run on 4th, but since he's been bowling over people. instead it's the 4th qtr and we're labouring to tie the game.
thanks
oh by the way, Demps whiffed again...
Dearest Arthur,
Fire Hufnagel...
Fire Gilbride...
Fire Lewis...
Fire Coughlin...
Sell the house, sell the kids...
It's not the players - it's the coaches!

you know what, i'm not even surprised !
we got bit by that poor ugly play selection in the red zone.
So much with that big tal all week about : bla bla if we beat the cowboys it doesn't matter, blabla ...
well they are right, it doesn't matter anymore for i'm not watching anymore. They can lay another egg at carolina, and another after that. they can commit 300 yards worth of penalty, cover kicks like my 5 year old daughter, and tackle like the one that's 18 month old, it doesn't matter.
the NFC is so crappy rightnow they might even make the playoff as the 6th seed, but it doesn't matter i won't stand by it anymore, it's 1:25 AM in france i have a big meeting tomorrow at work and no fingernails left, f... it, i'm done...
good luck art they might tag this one on the press yet again
wrong again!
how bout them cowboys!!!!!!!
The Giants imploded at the end of the game again. Tom Coughlin has no control of this team. He truly is "Coach Chaos," with all of the ups and downs.
They played hard, but they played dumb, just like their head coach.
The Giants will never win a Super Bowl with this coaching staff.
Arthur,
Tough loss, and now I have to hear again this week how Romo is the second coming of montana.... I hope the press leaves the players alone this week. They played their hearts out. I agree with going for it on fourth down and I think the players respect Tom for it. I do however think that the Defensive coaching lost the game. Why would you go prevent when the offense has 3 time outs and it's a tie game? Every time they pressured Romo he stunk. Finally, give big Brandon the ball on first and ten to soften up the D.
You know what, even though the Giants lost, I still feel good about this team. It's very weird. They weren't embarrassing tonight. Eli was the man. He came to play. I wanna see him get some praise in the papers this week. On the other hand, our coaches need to have their heads examined.
What can I say about this team? Why must we suffer the Jim Fassel curse 3 years later? You knew the defense was going to choke away a chance at OT. They NEVER stop anyone, especuially with the season on the line...lucky for the selfish players on this team, 8-8 can still get them their valuable playoff incentives...and an embarrassing 1st round blow out loss...
Arthur,
Looking at the G men offense I would like to see a mis direction play when the other team is just screaming in. Sunday against the boys I would loved a reverse to Moss and see if that wouldn't give the defense something to think about.
Don't see much orignality in Hufnagel's thinking.
