The 13th Man

That's my contribution to rabid fandom... A 13th Man to beat the snot out of all these Seahawks fans walking around wearing No. 12 jerseys with "Fan" on the back.

Perhaps it's my East Coast sensibility. Maybe I'm in need of some relaxation. I don't care. The idea of spending $75 or $100 on a jersey and putting "Fan" on the back? I'd disown my kid if he did that.

Inactives today are the expected: WR Sinorice Moss, DT Jonas Seawright, T Guy Whimper, OL Na'Shan Goddard, LB Brandon Short, S James Butler and RB Derrick Ward. Tim Hasselbeck is the third QB, so there'll be no Hasselbeck Bowl.

Only surprise among the Seattle inactives is WR D.J. Hackett, who burned the Giants last season. The Seahawks had to make room for Deion Branch.

And the fans booed Jay Feely when he came out to kick. Silly. They should've welcomed him with open arms.

I'm proud to be a Seahawks fan.Unlike in Jersy,I mean New York the fans know how and when to cheer for their team.Hawks fans don't need an annoucer tell them when to cheer.

There's about 4 minutes left in the first half, Manning has maybe two completions-- OH MY GOD!!--Burress just caught the first pass of any yardage and immediately fumbled it away, so now the Giants have four turnovers, 8 penalties, three completions, 1 first down, and four touchdowns allowed in the first 25 minutes.

Down 28-0, abandoning the run-- which they never even bothered to pretend they were interested in--establishing, the time to start a Fire Coughlin rant. I don't remember the last time the Giants were down 28-0 in any game, at any time. This has to be one of the most dissappointing starts to a season I've ever experienced, in some 30 years as a fan.

From about the time we got pasted in Washington last season, til today, this team has been the most consistently unprepared to play group in the entire league, BAR NONE. With the talent this team has, this kind of start to a game is absolutely unforgivable. What a disgrace.

35-0.

Our entire team, from the ball boy to Ernie Accorsi, should be run out of town on a rail.

I am ashamed of this team.

There aren't enough words in the English language to describe this humiliation.

We've got a long way to go.

Groan. Giants talked too much Superbowl BS during pre-season. They were roasted today.

Seattle is still an expansion team city.

Staple's rant on "Fan" jersies is as good as A-1 Sauce on a rack of ribs.

I appreciate the inactives Arthur, thanks. Tough game. Tough team to watch. Plenty of season left to salvage. Coughlin better use the bye week wisely -- I think the first commenter here is right, in that if they don't come out looking improved for the rest of the way, Coughlin will start to feel heat. At least a nice job erasing the false starts in the 2nd half.

I think the problems between Coughlin and the players run deeper than the Giants want to admit. When a disciplinarian coach produces a team that makes so many mistakes, you have to believe that they are tuning him out. Not a surprise, given the number of vets. I smell a rupture in the works -- bad hangover from last year, Burress benched, Shockey underused, Tiki running old, pass rush not there, etc. Post-bye game against Skins will be the verdict -- if they flop, the season goes to Handleyville in a hurry.

Wow, what a disaster. I think the odds of Tom Coughlin getting fired at the end of the season are increasing each week. What is Tim Lewis doing with this defense? Where is Lavar Arrington? How about the intense pash rush?

A joke. This team will be lucky to go 8-8 this year.

they have turned tom the tough off

…help me… Arthur… bleeding…bad…Giants’ blue is gushing out of my nose, my mouth… blood is dripping from my ears… I’m in really bad shape… I don’t feel good…say something, Arthur…I need hope… all I see is darkness… despair… the horror…

Can we cut Lavar Arrington yet? And maybe the entire secondary?

I have never seen a more humiliating loss in my life. The entire team, from the owners to the guy who cleans the locker room, should be embarassed. Call me crazy, but I'm still not sold on Eli. He singlehandedly gave the game away in the first quarter on passs that should have never been thrown or just thrown correctly. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing about growing pains.
The defense is atrocious and Tim Lewis hasn't a clue along with the rest of the coaching staff.Someone should remind them that Lavar Arrington is a pass rusher and not a pass defender.
I could go on for pages and pages, but I'll quit here.

Dear 13th Man,
You got your feelings hurt.. Not to mention your're jellous of our Fan suppot... You only wish Giant fans were half as loyal... Besides the new your giants are nothing but Jersey Jerks.. lol

Good Luck making the playoffs...

Go Seahawks!!!

Have the giants blitzed yet this year? Tim Lewis is got to be the biggest joke in the NFL. I will give Shockey credit for one thing, "Outcoached", yes but not offensively, but defensively. However Shockey also needs to shut up because the coaches did not throw crappy passes, did not drop at least 4 balls that should have been caught and did not jump on the line of scrimmage. The defense is another story when there is no pressure, no preparation, no stunts, no secondary help, and very little imagination. Say what you want, but all the rant about Tim Lewis is just that, rant!

I just don't know what to say...except. The NY GIANTS really suck! I was expecting a good game and got treated to a fitting massacre. I couldn't stop laughing through the whole game. Especially after I read this... "The Giants will win. Because their running game is better, their defense will play better and the Seahawks are not as good as everyone thinks they are. Giants, 27-17."

GO SEAHAWKS! (from the ghost of Kenny Easley)

Yeah, I'd be real proud to be walking around wearing a #80 Shockey jersey or a #17 Burress jersey after yesterday

The Seahawks AND #12 are the real deal

BIG BLUE?!! HA!!
more like the NY Pee Wees...

Ha Ha!!!
You guys (Giants and Fans) are pathetic!
What a waste of a team the 2006 edition of the NYGs are.

Couple of comments, I'm with the guy who is not sold on Eli. He is still making way to many bad throws, particularly early and putting the team in a hole. Strahan seems to have gotten old all of a sudden and Plax is exactly what was advertised. Do you think the Steelers are happy to be rid of him? Shockey has to shut up and just start playing. He's not paid for sound bites or newspaper articles. The whole team needs to spend a little more time listening and a little less time talking

#12 will never be traded, will never hold out for more money. #12 will give 100%, and won't embarrass the family with an awkward police blotter line. And as Giants and Panthers fans know, #12 makes a difference. I'm pround to wear #12 on my back, and am not surprised you don't get it.

you can't get more lame and pathetic than wearing a 12th man jersey.

you could be a Giants fan...

I'm starting to see why the refs screwed the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Holmgren is a gutless whiner with no class. Hasselbeck had no business dropping back to pass in the 4th quarter. They're lucky he didn't get hurt.

or I could be a Seahawks fan who resorts to using megaphones to make themselves louder than they actually are. Not to mention the fact that the stadium itself was designed to increase noise. If these fans are as loud as they say they are, the shouldn't need all that. It comes across as contrived and artificial...which I guess is to be expected from a second rate city like Seattle.

might have happened...if there was ANYONE there to hurt him.

I'm a FAN or 12th man, the comment about waisting $75 on a #12 jersey that says FAN on the back, seems to be a better investment than getting a jersey that says Manning on the back, or should I say on his back which is where he was sunday. The FAN, and everything that goes along with that title, is much bigger than Pride, yea I'm proud, you would be too if you had anything to be proud of, besides your media hoopla, or overcrowded cities, full of angry rude people.
Go Seahawks!!

Can you say OWNED....Face it, your team got smoked. Shockey may be a punk, but at least he got it right, your team got out coached and out played. At least Giants fans got to see a real team play this weekend.

nothing says "I have no life except for the fact that I get to scream at a football game once a week" more than wearing a #12 jersey.

getting a 12th man jersey is an investment in being a loser. Seems like most of the hicks out in Seattle are investing wisely...

I am spinning in my grave. ot because of the pefromance put on by my former team, although it was crap. Bot because of the ass-whuppin' by the Seahawks. No, it's the sadsack whining of my coach, my tight end and the pissants posting complaints here.

Who is the bigger a**hole? Arthur Staple and his pinheadness or Jack who knows nothing about football?

You tell me.

Ahh jealousy, what a great form of flattery .....12th man strong!!!!!!!!
Sorry you won't get an insult out of me. 12th man has more class then that.

FORGET ABOUT THE #12 JERSEY. THE TRUTH IS THAT ELI,SHOCKEY AND THE REST OF THE FRAUDS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH.TOO MUCH MEDIA HYPE AND NOT ENOUGH TALENT.

I'd say the Seahawk fan that goes to the opposing team's beat writers' blog to brag about a week 3 win is the biggest a**hole...but that's just me.

Arthur, Arthur, Arthur,

Now you’ve really gone and done it: gotten the 12 th man’s knickers all up in a twist! Wow – are those Seattle fans mad at you! You’d think they would be all happy after whipping up on us Big Blue Bastards (That’s what Big BB stands for, by the way. Today, however, BB stands for Badly Bleeding). And what do they have to be mad about anyways? They get to play St. Louis twice; Arizona twice; and San Francisco twice. What more do they want? To play us again?

It must be nice to be in that division; rack up all those easy wins; lock up home field throughout the playoffs…too bad the 12 th man didn’t get tickets to the Superbowl…but let’s get back to New York football.

It goes without saying, but I’m saying it anyway, Coughlin should ignore Shockey’s comments. And Burress – he’s not the problem either – he might not be a Giant for long, but he’s not what’s holding us back. The problem is: there are a lot of ‘kids’ and new faces on the team – which has created a gap between the plan and the execution of the plan.

The onus falls on the coaching staff to close that gap – either improve the players or develop a plan that is executable by the players. Whether it be the defensive schemes in the secondary or the quarterback’s play book – these guys have not been able to execute and I don’t think all of the blame is assessable to the players. It’s more likely the coaching. And it’s not that the plan is a bad plan – it’s simply the wrong plan.

I get the impression (based upon Coughlin’s tete-a-tete last year with Tiki) that Coughlin strongly feels his plans are exemplary and it’s the players who are at fault. The plays and schemes may be brilliant on paper, but do the collars match the cuffs (to mix a metaphor)?

But are his game plans all that great? Have they become predictable? If you are predictable then you are dead in this league – e.g. offensive coordinator Sean Payton who Jim Fassel stripped of play calling duties seven games into the 2002 season. Sean was bold and innovative at first, some even said ‘brilliant’, but became ‘predictable’. Opposing teams were calling out our plays. Ouch. Allegedly that’s what was happening against the Seahags yesterday.

Please pass this along to coach Coughlin when you get a chance.

What do you think?

Badly Bleeding,

-Big BB (Not my real name)

Out played......................No need to say anything else

Fact is.. you got your asses pounded.. NYG even sicked the NFL on the 12th man.. all it did was piss us off.. and .. note to NYG front office.. don't do that again.. what a mistake. What a drubbing.
That isn't a team, it's a bunch of baby posers.

It's awesome to see all you Big Blue fans come up with every excuse in the book for your team and it's just as exciting to log in every day and see the angry comments from a bunch of losers about the team that just made your team look like pop warner out there on national TV Sunday.

By the way, It was a clownshoes Giants fan that originally sent this link over to various Seahawk sites talking smack, so that is the reason there are Seahawk fans posting here. I have better things to do like making tons of money from my desk here at Microsoft than sit around and intentionally search for links from sore loser Giants fans like this.

The only thing I have to say about the "12th man" that has you New Yorkers all up in arms, is WHO CARES. WHO CARES that people spend money to put Fan on the back of a jersey!! Does it somehow offend you? Is it in anyway relevant to how your team played? Honestly, being a Seahawks fan myself I wouldn't do it but hey they're showing pride in being a fan of the team they love. The point here is that you need to spend less time focusing on us and more time focusing on your team. Face it the better team won on Sunday and there is no excuse for the way NYG played on gameday!

Looks like someone wished they rooted for a real team. Yours was an embarrassment to the NFL Sunday. So go spout off on the fans. God knows you can't spout off about their team.

Good site. Thank you!!!
