OK, so Steve was right -- Frank Walker made it and Curtis Deloatch didn't. And Bajio was right -- Reggie Torbor did make it, but barely.
But who latched on to a plucky youngster with gold teeth, a ridiculous car and a t-shirt for every occasion at the start of camp and made him a blogstar?
Yes, today is the ultimate MJMD... Michael Jennings is a Giant, at least for the next few days. Quite probably the entire season, since it's doubtful that a third TE will knock him off the roster. But truly, I say this without bias: Was there anyone else in camp who came so far in a month? Na'Shan Goddard, maybe, but he won't play, if he sticks. Kevin Dockery pulled off a pretty neat feat, stepping into the void left by E.J. Underwood's shoulder injury to steal a CB spot from Deloatch.
But MJ is the man, and he's earned it. Coughlin gave me that "Earn the right" line about Jennings early in camp, and the kid (actually, he'll be 27 in a few days) definitely earned it.
He also apparently dazzled everyone at Wednesday's kickoff luncheon: Plaid suit, gold tie, gold teeth in. "I was all clinked out," he said, promising pictures. MJMDs all year!
There were truly no surprises, if you paid attention during the final week of camp and in the final preseason game. Ponder returned kickoffs, but was ho-hum; Walker played ahead of Deloatch; Seawright played over Duckett; and Jason Bell was ahead of Charlie Peprah, who showed that being a draft pick guarantees nothing.
Predictions for the practice squad: Peprah and McPhearson, if they make it through waivers (I think they will); Nick McNeil, Anthony Mix, Tony Jackson; Darcy Johnson; Marcus Green and James Sims. They do usually scoop up someone from another cut list for the PS, so I'm just going on the current group.
The Eli-Peyton nuttiness begins Monday. Lord help us, it's football season.

tom the tough is a bad coach and by the 3th year the players rebel
Are you surprised they kept only 2 TEs on the active roster? If one gets hurt during a game, they can't go to a 2-TE look! At least until they activate one of the TEs off the practice roster. Or will Finn or one of the FBs fill in as a 2nd TE in that scenario?
The giants HAVE A GREAT TEAM, BUT NO QB the better man is sitting on the side line. eli get raddled to easy and should have had more of an impacted last year, sometimes you can,t live up to a great name of mannings wich is not fair for the kid, but this is the year you will see he can,t cut the mustard and when he is benched a new star will rise in lorenzen he will be the talk of the town and the heir to a superbowl.
lorenzen is going to be a superstar if they let him.tom the tough doesn't have the guts to pull manning and give him the ball
