Is Kurt Warner a Hall of Famer?

When I watch Kurt Warner play quarterback, three things run through my mind. (OK, four, but players' wives are off-limits in my blog book). Those three things are:
1) "Greatest Show on Turf."2) "Didn't this guy spend the mid-2000s imitating Tony Banks and Quincy Carter by fumbling every 39 seconds?"
3) "Dadgummit, Kurt. Stop throwing all those touchdowns to Anquan Boldin! I've got Larry Fitzgerald on my fantasy team."
During this Warner Renaissance, I, like most of Football America, have been wondering about his place in NFL history. No doubt he has one. The question is this: Does that place include a bronze bust in Canton, Ohio, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
We all know his Career Day speech at high schools can inspire even those stoner kids in the back row to consider doing something with their lives. And we know he's having an MVP-caliber season in 2008. But is it enough?
Smarter people than me will have to decide that in at least five years. Or at least, those with Hall of Fame votes will have to decide that in at least five years.
My first thought was no, but since I'm a Curious George on occasion, I performed some research into this Kurt Warner situation. I think my first thought was slightly inaccurate.
• Warner played in two Super Bowls, won one of them and was named Super Bowl MVP. (Hey, sounds like Brett Favre).
• Warner is a two-time league MVP and if he wins it again this year, oh lookee here, he'll tie Favre's NFL record.
• In 1999, the year "The Greatest Show on Turf" began in St. Louis, Warner had a 109.2 QB rating, threw for 4,353 yards and 41 TDs.
• In 2001, he had a 101.4 QB rating, threw for 4,830 yards (second in history behind Dan Marino's 5,084 in 1984) and 36 TDs.
• Through 10 games in 2008, Warner has 105.5 rating and has thrown for 3,155 yards and 20 TDs.
• Warner's career 94.6 QB rating in No. 2 all-time behind Steve Young's 96.8 (minimum 1,500 attempts).*
• Warner's career 65.7 completion percentage is No. 2 all-time behind Chad Pennington's 65.8.*
Forget about that pesky six-fumble game he had with the Rams against the Giants in 2003. This is an all-time quarterback we're watching right now. Enjoy it while you can.

Dadgummit?
Momgummit is infinitely more pleasurable.
You are really into Warner's wife??? Really?? She's not the looker that your girl Sloan is.
I think I'd want him to do this or close to this one more year before he gets my vote. Though if he would have beat Tom Brady my vote would already have been a yes.
