Is Brett Favre thinking about a comeback?

Uh-oh.

Chris Mortensen is reporting on ESPN that Brett Favre, who announced his retirement after the season, has been in contact with the Packers about a potential comeback with Green Bay. (Wait. Would this be called a comeback? The Packers haven't played a game since Favre called it quits, so not sure if this would technically qualify).

I'll still believe it when I see it. But stranger things have happened.

Don't think Michael Strahan will be doing the same with the Giants.

favre is god.

BG-

Do you know if Strahan's contract with FOX has provisions in it in case he returns to play? Like an easy out.

i'm a huge favre fan, and i was sad when he retired, but this is kind of ridiculous. the pack has already moved on, and aaron rodgers is as ready as he'll ever be. favre should not have made such a hasty decision.

that said, i've heard that his decision was made at the haste of packers management, who wanted an early decision from him, and in the past have seemed a little miffed every time he has taken his time deciding. i understand they want to get their organization in order, but they should understand what a tough decision it is, and give the guy some respect, considering what he's done for the franchise.

in a perfect world, everybody would be happy favre is coming back and we'd all just forget about his retirement. in a world that made sense, the pack would trade him some place where it makes sense for favre and would be willing to shell out something for him, but the only two teams that make sense are the vikes and bears, and no way the pack brass is sending him there.

so, in the end, i think if he wants to come back, the pack are going to have to take him, start him, and start looking for qb's down the line because rodgers is not going to stay after these shenanigans.
