Shockey plans to show
Out here at Giants Stadium, where the Giants had an Organized Team Activity (translation: mandatory/voluntary practice), there was no Jeremy Shockey sighting.
But according to a person who has been in touch with Shockey's camp, the tight end plans to show for next week's mini-camp (June 11-13).
Shockey hasn't been around the entire off-season - nothing different than before. But the backdrop this year is different, what with the trade talk with New Orleans and talk that Shockey is unhappy with his situation.
The Giants have stated publicly on a number of occasions that they want Shockey back, and quarterback Eli Manning has been emphatic in his desire to keep the Pro Bowl tight end.
If he were to miss the mini-camp, he would be subject to fines.
Assuming he does show, there's no indication whether he plans to speak publicly for the first time since the Giants won Super Bowl XLII.
