... for taking away the sport I love to watch at this time of year.
No Rangers-Penguins tonight on MSG, only Versus. Wonderful. Biggest market in the league, and only a handful of people get to see the game. No Versus on my cable system.
I grew up on the NHL. Saturday nights at home watching Bruins-Rangers. Johnny McKenzie fighting Reggie Fleming. Harry Howell playing defense in front of Eddie Giacomin. The GAG line. Marv Albert's "kick save and a beauty!"
Rod Gilbert was my idol.
Thank you again for taking away my sport.

Bob,
I am with you. I used to go to 25 Islanders, Rangers and Devils game a year and watched a ton more than that on TV. Since they have gone to Versus, the only games I get now are selected Flyer games on Comcast (I live in PA now).
As a result, Hockey is barely a blip on my sports radar. Can someone tell Bettman that he needs to bring the sport back into the mainstream!
Versus = no one gets it!!!!!!
Try. www.hockeywebcasts.com
"Saturday Nights"----delayed tape at 9PM on WOR channel 9 with Jim Gordon and the "Big Whistle" Bill Chadwick.
("Marv, Gene Carr couldn't put the puck in the ocean").
Games always seemed to end right on time at 11PM. Oh, the wonders of technology back then.
Billy Fairbairn, Orland Kurtenbach, Walt Tkachuk (sp?), Rod Seiling, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bob Nevin, Gilles Villemure.....
all great babysitters for us coming of age baby boomers.
Oh, Islander505, you are the goods. Those were the days, my friend.
Bob, are you really sad you're going to miss the carnage?
I've got Versus, and I'll be enjoying the game :-)
Nice call B and G......
Don't get too cocky now.
Remember what Yogi said.....
Next game is pivotal, almost a must win for the Pens.
Lose it and expect chants of "1975" when the series returns to MSG.
And ANYTHING can happen in a Game 7, especially to a relatively young team.
I'm not rooting for the Ranger's here....just trying to keep the cocksures in check.
It ain't over.
