The Giants didn't take Dwayne Jarrett

Instead, they took Jarrett's less heralded USC teammate Steve Smith.

How's that one working out? Smith is coming off a Super Bowl win his rookie season after making some major contributions down the stretch.

Jarrett, who had an awful rookie year marred by injury and inconsistency, is fighting a DWI charge.

bg,they never had a chance to take jarrett, carolina picked ahead of the giants in the 2nd round.and if i am not mistaken, reese actually said they had a higher grade on jarrett.

True, but that was after their first-round pick (Aaron Ross). Jarrett had first-round grades for some teams, but not the Giants. It certainly worked out to their benefit.
