Thank goodness Simon Cowell wasn't in the house

Stephen Haynes is a bright young journalist who has a phenomenal recall for stats and a breathtaking grasp on how to play fantasy football.

A singer he is not.

He does have moxie, though. And he does what was once considered impossible: He makes Roseanne Barr's version of the National Anthem actually seem pretty good.

Thanks for the compliments, but I have to take issue with the dis. Who said I can't sing? That's subjective. What's an ice pick to one person's eardrum might be mellifluous to another. Judging by the crowd reaction, record execs should be catching Haynes Fever pretty soon. I'm available for weddings and bar mitzvahs, but it's $20,000 for a chorus and $35,000 for a whole song. Well worth it, though.

BTW - Simon wasn't there, but Simone Cowell was. Morgan Tranquist, the evil judge, said that the performance would've been good if I were a 6-year-old. I sensed jealousy.
