Some people might think Brett Favre is wavering ...

... about his decision to retire. But Packers president Mark Murphy doesn't.

"I don't see how anybody could watch his press conference and think anything other than this is something that he really struggled with and came to a decision," Murphy said in an interview with The Associated Press. "Obviously, it was a tough decision for him. But I think in his mind, he knows he made the right decision."

It's important not to underestimate what a person like Murphy, or anyone else in a position of authority in Green Bay, says about Favre. After all, if Favre wonders if he'd get the itch to play should Aaron Rodgers go down with an injury, the Packers might not be so quick to scratch it.

The team would surely be under pressure to call Favre if that were to happen. But don't forget that the team is still trying to secure the services of a veteran backup. So in the event Rodgers did get hurt, they'd be more inclined to go with said backup, than see if Favre would consider getting off the tractor in Mississippi and getting back onto the field in Green Bay.
