I cannot believe J.P. Parise is 66 years old

Stapler wrote a nice column today about former Islander J.P. Parise, whose son, Zach, is now a Devils' forward trying to knock off the Rangers.

It was a mere 33 years ago that J.P. attempted to do the same while playing for the Islanders.

Even I was too young to cover that team, but I do remember J.P. as being that feisty, fast-skating forward who typified the young, upstart Islanders, who eventually turned into a hockey dynasty.

(I did cover the 1980-83 Isles who won Stanley Cups each of those years. Many enjoyable moments along the way.)

btw, at least one Rangers' fan not happy with Stapler pronouncing the series over after the Blueshirts beat the Devs twice in a row at the Rock. Doug S. mortified that Stapler would do so, especially after New Jersey stayed alive with an OT win in Game 3.

Devils coach Brent Sutter was a part of some memorable Isles teams that staged some remarkable comebacks, so we'll see what happens now that he's behind the bench.

I could never bust chops at your level. As Mark Twain might have said, "Never bust chops with someone who blogs by the barrell."

ATTABOY GLAUBER.....

Build those hits off of the very popular Isles blog.

I'm proud of you....

And Boland.....
You grew up in Cleveland and "used" to be a Browns fan? (as Glauber reported earlier).
I lived there for 2 years.....met and made friends with a lot of nice people ..(they really are an accepting bunch).
NO ONE from Cleveland can be categorized as a "used to be" Browns fan.....
Did you relinquish your Flats (RIP) Entry Card as well?
