That walk over the Brooklyn Bridge is inevitable, I fear

What else can I say except "thank you" to all for supporting this blog.

We set a fourth consecutive "What About Bob" record for monthly page views, which led to a greatly appreciated company-wide e-mail from blog guru Mark La Monica. This after we smacked ML around a few posts back after he suggested we pilfered one of his ideas. brooklynbridge.jpgEven Best chimed in with kudos.

We didn't beat our man Best, meaning our promise to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in a Speedo alongside WFAN's Craig Carton will have to wait. We suspect, however, that it won't be much longer before that day arrives, because draft month is coming up in April. And we did finish fifth overall among all the sports blogs - behind the Rangers, Islanders, Mets, and Best's WatchDog. That happened in a month when there was only one football game.

And we did eclipse Best's previous Newsday record of 31 blog posts in a single day, a record I'm certain will be re-taken by Best, although not today because he seems a bit blog weary.

Thus, I am headed to the health club tomorrow to prepare myself for the inevitable walk across this most famous bridge. (I would hope that if any gentlemen who plan on using the urinal while I'm at the club would please read my previous "Pet Peeves" post about health club etiquette.)

Thanks again for all your support and interest in the NFL and the other assorted items we write about.

I'll tell David Tyree you all say hello when I see him in a few hours at a charity auction at Mickey Mantle's in Manhattan.

(My younger brother Mickey was named after Mickey Mantle.)

One game? ONE game?

And you call yourself a football sportswriter... sheeeshhhh

Just because you didn't get to go to the Pro Bowl is no reason to disrespect that game. :-)

:)

You're right. Apologies, Honolulu.
