So, is there a chance Favre plays in '08?

I know, I know. News just broke that Brett Favre has decided to hang it up.

But has he really, really retired? Or is there a chance he comes back?

Considering his waffling over the last three years about whether to return - which was invariably followed by his decision to keep playing - I think you have to at least consider the possibility that he'll have a change of heart and come back.

It's also curious that news of Favre's retirement breaks a day after Randy Moss re-signed with the Patriots. Remember, Favre lobbied heavily for the team to trade for Moss last year, and GM Ted Thompson ultimately backed out of talks with the Raiders. Moss then was dealt to the Patriots.

Moss became an unrestricted free agent after last season, and after a few uncertain days where he entertained offers from other clubs, he re-upped for three years and $27 million. The Packers did not make a push to sign Moss.

Just something to think about.
