Look-a-likes: John Madden and John Candy

Aside from the fact that she's one of our most loyal readers and commenters, the other thing we like about NKR is that she actually digs out the look-a-likes for us. Many thanks!

We've got some more from her way later on, but we'll use this one for now. It's NBC analyst John Madden, who is somewhat famous for his high regard for Brett Favre, and the late comedian John Candy, one of our favorites.

Candy actually has a place in NFL history. During the Bengals-49ers Super Bowl after the 1988 season, San Francisco trailed in the final minutes when Joe Montana trotted onto the field with the offense. In what would have been a nerve-racking situation for just about any athlete, Montana looked around the stadium and said to his teammates, "Hey, look, there's John Candy."

As a special bonus just for clicking our way, here's "Madden" in a recent appearance on Late Night With David Letterman. He talks about his admiration for Favre in this clip.
