Incredible bit of Tom Coughlin trivia

Tom Coughlin-coached teams have defeated three Hall of Fame quarterbacks in their final games: Jim Kelly on Dec. 28, 1996; Dan Marino on Jan. 15, 2000; and Brett Favre on Jan. 20, 2008.

Coughlin was coach of the Jaguars when they beat Kelly and Marino.

"I don’t think there has been any better statesman for professional football than Brett Favre was," Coughlin said. "What he has meant to Green Bay and that franchise and to the fans in Green Bay has been a tremendous rallying point throughout the 16 years he played there. He’s not only been a great player. He is a guy who had some issues and he openly admitted that. He went about the business of making the necessary corrections and served as an example for young players to listen to how his particular issues came about so that they might avoid similar circumstances."
