Did failed physical with Giants tip off Wilson?

You might remember the Giants last year pursuing Broncos linebacker Al Wilson in a potential trade. The deal was eventually scuttled because the Giants discovered a problem with Wilson's neck during a physical.

Wilson is now reportedly filing a grievance against the Broncos based on his contention that the Broncos failed to treat him properly from a medical standpoint when he was injured late in the 2006 season.

Wilson is healthy again and pursuing his options as a free agent. But if he wins his case against the Broncos, it could result in a significant financial windfall.

Interesting stuff.

The Broncos just might be the second-most shady franchise behind the Pats. Look at the history, what with Alex Gibbs' controversial offensive line blocking techniques, the calling-timeout-before-opposing-kicker-kicks, and the recent controversy in which a Yahoo sportswriter retracted a story that Shanahan might have cheated...makes me wonder if perhaps their Super Bowl victories might be tainted in some way.

And don't forget the team getting penalized for shenanigans tied to manipulating the salary cap with John Elways contract. Shanny clearly does everything he can to get an edge--fair or not.

The Broncos are the sleaze. They cheated the cap, they fired their figurehead GM just recently, the Jake Plummer situation was a total mess, the masters of the chop-blocking, drafting Maurice Clarett, drafting players kicked off their team or with major makeup issues, and this. Shanahan was always a cut from the cloth of Al Davis but I think even realized he created a monster. The Broncos stunk last season. Jason Elam was their MVP and he's their kicker. In any other place Shanny would have been fired already but Pat Bowlen is just too chubby with him.
