Brett Favre might be done

Foxsports and the Biloxi Sun-Herald are reporting that Brett Favre, barring a last-minute change of heart, has decided to retire. The Sun-Herald quotes Favre's brother, Scott, as saying that Brett has informed the Packers he's through playing.

Wow.

When all indications seemed to point to a Favre return, this could be it for the legendary 38-year-old quarterback.

Favre finished his 17th season with the Packers, leading them to a surprise run at the NFC Championship, where they were beaten by the Giants in overtime at frigid Lambeau Field in January. Favre completed 356 of 535 passes for 4,155 yards, with 28 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions last season, leading the Packers to a 13-3 record in the regular season.

Favre's replacement will be Aaron Rodgers, a former first-round pick who has not started a game.
