The Giants have cooled on a trade for Falcons disgruntled cornerback DeAngelo Hall, but they might look to another NFC South cornerback to add depth to the secondary. The Giants are scheduled to host Buccaneers free agent cornerback Brian Kelly on Thursday, a league source familiar with the Giants' situation confirmed.
Kelly, 32, played 10 seasons for the Bucs, and had 22 interceptions. Once a mainstay of the Bucs’ secondary, Kelly started just four games last season and had two interceptions. He had a combined eight interceptions in 2004-2005, when he started all 32 games in that span.
The Giants signed another 32-year-old defensive back - safety Sammy Knight - on Monday. They lost free agent safety Gibril Wilson, who signed a six-year, $39 million contract with the Raiders.
