Zach Thomas has some options

After being released last week by the Dolphins in a combination cost-cutting move/injury-related decision, linebacker Zach Thomas already has an offer from the Patriots, but also has drawn interest from the Cowboys and Saints.

It could be a while before he makes a decision, especially with the Scouting Combine coming up this week and teams unsure of just how their rosters will look for the 2008 season.

The Patriots made Thomas an offer that simply wasn't substantial enough for him to cancel meetings with New Orleans and Dallas. So he'll continue to explore his options before making a decision.

One potential fly in the ointment is his physical condition. He appears to be over a concussion he sustained midway through last season. But with plenty of mileage on his body and the possibility that one more serious condition to do him in for his career, teams might be reluctant to pour big dollars into a contract offer.

I am glad to see you are enjoying the offseason, but this is no way to defeat Best. Worst case, do a where are they now, with pictures, on the Panthers overly amorous cheerleaders. Perhaps that will lead to an expose: Cheerleaders on Spring Break!!!

Thanks for the tips, Craig. Will look into both.
