Redskins backup QB Todd Collins re-signed with the Redskins today, but not before the Giants had some discussions about whether or not to pursue him.
Collins is one of the league's better backups, but a league source familiar with the Giants situation told me a few minutes ago that the team knew he'd be too expensive for their salary cap structure. Collins signed a reported three-year, $9 million extension to remain as Jason Campbell's backup in DC.
