Black N Gold is our new hero

We knew he'd be psyched about our post of the U.S. Olympic hockey team's stunning victory over the Soviets in 1980, and he came through in a very, very big way.

Check out this newly discovered live telecast from the game that B N G found. Not sure who the announcer is (it's not Al Michaels), but it's powerful stuff.

Even Neil Best, another avowed hockey fan, has to be impressed over B N G's find. Many thanks.

Wow.

From what I can determine from the comments attached to the video, the poster, a Curt Chaplin, claims to have been at the game and recorded his commentary live in a hand held casette recorder. He subsequently matched the commentary up to the original TV video. You can hear Ken Dryden on the replay video portions of the broadcast.

In my personal opinion, if this guy truely did this extemporaneously, then he missed out on his true calling, as the call was very professional.

Either way, it's a powerful feed that I was very excited about and had to share with my friends on What about Bob :-)

I will get Best on the case here. Very interesting.
