According to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe, Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has been fined $15,000 for poking Giants running back Brandon Jacobs through the facemask during Saturday night's game at Giants Stadium.
Wilfork writes in his own website that he did not poke Jacobs in the eye, and that he was talking trash at the time of the incident. Wilfork was not penalized on the play.
"I have received a number of questions about it that just assume I was trying to poke him in the eye," Wilfork writes. "It was nothing more than them doing trash talking and in the heat of the moment I pointed my finger in his face. I did not make contact with his eye or anything like that. After that it was over, on the field emotions are high there were several bumps amongst players and trash talking the whole game. It was one of the biggest games of the season and we all had a lot of emotion in the game. When things like that happen it is all heat of the moment and once the moment is gone it is over. There are no hard feelings and I really think the commentators did a great job of blowing it up. When the game was over we all said our byes and that was that."

Not nearly enough. Wilfork is a dirtyplayer - just watch the video of the way he throws his elbow at Losman's knee.

I tried to comment before, but I was banished to the "blog-owner" for approval...
My comment earlier was that Bob is a much better writer than Mr. Wilfork....but I assume that Vince is a better defensive lineman than Bob...
Hey...Black N Gold....it's now past 6:30....you're probably walking around in your footsie Garanimals pajamas, getting ready for night-night...your mommy gonna let you stay up for the game?
Tell the truth...did you arrange to have me blocked from the site?...
Why don't you grow some sac and hang in there with your team.
ouch
Because, unlike you Hookslide, I'm not interested in making myself look like an @$$ in public.
Steelers losing 21-7 and the first half isn't even over.
Go back to baseball Hookslide, Maybe you might actually know something about that game.
Hey there Mr Sensitive....take it easy....
I have no problem making myself look like an @$$ in public...or in private for that matter...
Not sure if you are still awake...but it's turned into a rather exciting game...
I started rooting for Pittsburgh when I saw the dude from Jax who was ruled pout of bounds because of his hair...
As for me...I never left baseball....but are you telling me to leave the blog?
Go Steelers...
Mr. Baseball... he was ruled "down by contact" - his hair had nothing to do with it.
I do have to laugh though that you're posting on a football blog. Your name not only speaks of another sport, but from an action in another sport that was developed specifically to avoid contact. Great moniker for a football blog.
As opposed to your moniker..."anonymous"?
What....because of my name, I can't post on this blog?
Are you making the rules for the blog now?
I thought it was called "What About Bob" not "What About BNG"
I only saw the hair thing on a TV in a bar...I wasn't really paying attention to the game...figures...right?
don't hate me coz I have a faggy sounding blog name...there are so many other reasons to hate me...you just don't know me well enough
It WAS a great game though.
Steelers have a good team...great future...great coach...I am jealous as a Jet fan....
but can they please do something about the grass there?
Jealous Jet fan?
Now you're making me feel bad for arguing with you... I didn't realize your handicap was that extreme...
Don't be going all soft on me...
I think I speak for most of the readers when I say, that this blog is much more fun when you get all pissed off.
there's only so many look-alikes I can take.
Now that the Steelers are out, what do you till mini-camp?
Perhaps Bob and some other bloggers could make some off-season activity suggestions for BNG
