Sapp to Raiders: "I'm done!"

Warren Sapp came into the NFL amidst controversy (positive drug tests at the University of Miami caused him to slip in the first round) and now he leaves making headlines again. For all the wrong reasons.

In his next to last game, Sapp melted down against the Jaguars and was hit with three consecutive unsportsmanlike conduct penalties before being ejected. And after privately telling teammates last week's game against the Chargers would be his final appearance in an NFL uniform, he announced his retirement on a website with a two-word announcement: "I'M DONE!"
ok ... bye.

Should be interesting to see what happens with Sapp now. He regularly leaked on reporters and television commentators, using plenty of obscenities to make his points. Which probably means he'll begin a career in the media shortly.

That's ok. He's Neil Best's problem now.

Tell us how you really feel about him Bob :-)

Ah, you want to elaborate on how he 'leaked' on you? :-)

On second thought, nevermind :-)

I don't mind sharing my Sapp leakage.

I was in Tampa one year when the Bucs were a Super Bowl favorite - might have been Tony Dungy's last season. Anyway, Sapp had lost a bunch of weight, and predicted he'd break the single-season sack record.

One of the early questions in my interview involved his weight and whether he thought it would improve his quickness, and he got up, flipped the chair over and walked out.

He did not treat ordinary people very kindly, and I don't take kindly to that.

B N G:

btw, I was in Penn Station a few minutes ago and saw a guy with a business suit walking around with a black and gold scarf. That wasn't you, was it?

I was in a rush and didn't have the chance to ask if it was you. I felt fairly certain that he was a Steelers fan. Otherwise, a businessman wearing a black and gold scarf as a fashion statement is pretty dorky.

No offense.

Was he muttering to himself about finding someone named hookslide pulling a "Terry Tate - Office Linebacker" on him? (If you aren't familar, stick that name in a YouTube search.

Seriously though, no it wasn't me, I mostly work out on Long Island.
At my prior job I brought a Steelers cap and a WVU cap into work and had them in my office. Unfortunately they caused more problems and created more tensions than I felt appropriate for the workplace.

So I keep my sports affiliations separate from my career, except of course, for the time I spend on your wonderful blog! :-)

Sapp will have a job next year guaranteed.

If Keyshawn, Shannon Sharpe, Deion Sanders and all the other loud mouths like them can get jobs, why cant Sapp??

Most media people treat the little guy like **** also, and with that big inviting smile the common folk will love him.
