Former Jets personnel director Pat Kirwan, now the resident expert at NFL.com and a host of other media outlets, predicts the Giants will beat Dallas in the divisional round on Sunday in Big D.
Kirwan offers a detailed analysis of the matchups, and concludes that the Giants will continue their hot streak and beat the favored Cowboys.
Kirwan was with the Jets during the Bruce Coslet/Pete Carroll/Rich Kotite years, and spent some time under Bill Parcells before leaving the organization. He did a lot of the team's contracts, and was responsible for pro personnel moves for several years.
I once sat in on a conversation Kirwan had with an agent who was trying to pump up his client in contract negotiations. Since the conversation was off the record, I won't identify the agent or the player. It was at a league meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, and the conversation lasted nearly an hour. Kirwan and the agent had a back-and-forth that was mind-numbing in its redundancy, with the agent saying that his client was really valuable, and Kirwan saying that he was not quite as valuable as the agent had suggested.
After the conversation, I asked Kirwan if this was a normal give-and-take, and he replied: "Actually, that was one of the shorter ones."

Notice he hasn't had a job since (unless you count that crap he writes for NFL.com, which I don't).
