We'll try and blog as frequently as possible from out here, and it certainly helps that we've got the Internet air card to keep in touch even while in the strange places you invariably come across at Super Bowls.
Just getting started here and anticipate a week filled with plenty of hype, stupid questions and the general nonsense that goes on at these places where 3,000 media types descend.
Neil Best apparently made it into town, so we'll catch up to him later on as our blog wars continue. In the meantime, check back for updates.
Talk soon. For now, we've ordered an egg-white omlette - or omelet as NKR likes to spell it - and have an important story to write for tomorrow's newspaper.

Bob...what's with this 3rd person..."we've ordered an omelet"...John doesn't think it's cool when athletes/celebrities refer to themselves that way. I'm sure Bob Dole would say "Bob Dole doesn't speak in the 3rd person either".
Unless the 'we' refers to you and the significant other.

PS...normally I only respond to Neil's blog but John can sense that you're reaching out for some blogging love.
John:
We thank you for the shoutout. We really aren't looking for any extra blog love, but we'll admit to occasionally using the "we" thing because we think it makes us sound a little less egotistical.
We guess there is some ego in anyone who dares put their words out in the blogosphere, but we try to soften the blow by refraining from using the word "I" too often.
Did you know that the greatest sportswriter ever, Red Smith, never used the word "I" until his last column?
Again, we apologize for any discomfort about the annoying use of "we," although BBiB! has long known about our Bo Jackson-like attempts at self-deprecating word use.
btw, are you John Phillips?
No, Bob, John is just an ordinary sports fan from NJ who happens to love the sports section of Newsday. But I was born in Jamaica and spent the first 5 yrs of my life in Syosset so I have LI roots. My Dad is a proud graduate of Hoftstra..class of 48 (they missed three yrs due to the big one in Europe).
Moved to NY in 1958 and watched my first pro football game in 1960 at the ripe age of 9. Been a Giant fan (can u believe that Y A Tittle is 81!) ever since.
Love the blurb about Red and his last column.
Enjoy your sense of humor,
Go Giants
You are joking about my spelling? LOL!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omelet
No such thing as an omlette. Omelet or omelette.
And I make a perfect 3-egg omelet... A little whole-grain toast, real butter, fresh squeezed OJ, mmmmmmm.......
And my omelettes include yolks.
