Glauber Nation Contest: Make your picks!

The moment has arrived.

Three days and counting to Giants-Patriots, and it is time to weigh in. vote.jpg

Giants or Patriots. Make your choice. BBiB! remains the official scorer.

We'll wait until a bit later in the day before making our prediction official, although you can probably find it somewhere in our voluminous wall-to-wall coverage of the game in today's special section in Newsday.

In the meantime, you can chew on our five-point plan to beat the Patriots.

Here are the current standings:

Pats 31
Giants 24

hope I'm wrong.....again

Pepper looks really happy in the pic over here ------------------>

It's only a question of how much the Pats win by...i'm guessing around 21pt differential...38 -17 at least. Who on the Jints is gonna stop Moss?

And I'm a long time Giant fan...we're gonna get slaughtered.

I refuse to make a pick and provide the Pats with bulletine board material that might make them play harder.

Pats 34 - Giants 17

Plax tips one pass into the hands of a Pats defender for a TD early and by the 4th Qtr he quits running hard and blocking on routes where he's not the primary receiver.

Brady is the MVP - Surprise! (Not)

Jon:

lol

Now go ahead and make your pick and don't be a weenie. I promise I will not let the Patriots see this blog post and thus offer additional motivation to make them play harder.

btw, remember when Anthony Smith guaranteed the Steelers would beat the Pats? During that game, Brady threw a touchdown pass on a pattern that had Smith badly beaten. Brady then went and screamed at Smith.

The Patriots absolutely love this stuff, and it absolutely gets them going. Trust me. The first time Burress makes a catch, Rodney Harrison will be in his face.

Pats 31 Giants 14

Giants 27...Patriots 23

The Giants have to control the clock...ala, the Super Bowl against rthe Bills...they cant win a shoot-out against the Patriots.

BG,
Any 5 point plan to beat the Pats is incomplete at best without the point of,"when in the red zone, score touchdowns, not FGs." That is number 1 and 1A on any list. The Chargers could have won the AFC Championship if they punched it in a few times when inside the 10 yd. line. FGs won't cut it because the Pats are going to score. - a lot. Sure, the Giants can control the ball and pressure Brady, but guess what, they'll still break 27 points. You must score touchdowns - period.

Prediction: Pats 33 Giants 23

Wow - no love for the G-men here....Poppy, I agree with you....I actually watched (and tivo'd) the super bowl win over the bills last night (thank you, directtv for having the nfl network) and it was amazing what that giants team did.....40:23 i think was the giants time of possession....crazy! yes the bills ran the no-huddle, but the giants had a 9-plus min. scoring drive to start the 2nd half....they noted that the buffalo offense had gone well over an hour between snaps because big blue had the ball to close the half and then the long halftime show followed by the record-setting drive (most time). i think the giants have to play the same game...let jacobs be OJ and bradshaw be meggett.....and if we can get eli to be phil from the 86 team, we are set!!!!

bigfroe's prediction:
Giants 31
Patriots 29

Fine, but don't turn on me when Tom Brady starts yelling "Bleep you, Jon" after each touchdown pass. Actually, I wish I could pick the Giants, but i`m going Pats 38-35. Same score as the ast game.

Pats 30
NYG 20

I am rooting against my pick

Pats 35
Giants 27

N.E. 34
Giants 17

giants 27 pats 24

Pats 31 Jughead's Giants 3

Junior makes 13 tackles, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery

Rodney picks off 2 passes

Gmen 31, Pats 27...you guys are lucky I didn't pick before the conference championships, otherwise you'd all be chasing me.

Hope I'm wrong too Pats38 Jints10

I'll be rooting for the Giants but can't see them pulling this one out unless Brady, Welker and Faulk get knocked out early.

New England - 45
New York - 15

I think the Giants are more resilient

they finally beat Garcias in TB as dogs, turned Americas Team into Mexicos Team by beating their arch rivals seeded #1 in the NFC with homefield throughout, creamed some cheese against Brett Favre and Co. in Ice Bowl II at Lambeau and are now faced with the ultimate challenge in Superbowl XLII.

The presuure is on the Pats come the 4th quarter and the Giants prevail thanks to a Gostkowski kick that goes WIDE LEFT.

Somewhere the Norwoods and Buckners of the world go to bed saying "I know how he feels".

The best team in the NFL loses to the hottest team in the NFL come Sunday.

Giants 30 Pats 27

I am losing to Bob by one win, so I have to choose against him. I am like my favorite player Brett Favre. If I am going to go down, I'm going down with my guns blazing.
Giants 31, Patriots 30

Tynes wins it again.

Poppy.... Congrats on a perfect call. (Can I borrow your crystal ball?)

B N G...Thanks...I wish my crystal ball would work on the Jets and Knicks...I.m getting old and gray waiting for a Championship.
