Charlie Chilkoot doesn't get headlines in Best's blog

We were surprised and delighted to see one of Neil Best's regulars, Charlie Chilkoot (love that name, although we're not sure if it's made up), contribute to our comments section this week.

In fact, we would have included it in the Comment Contest winner's section had it not been for our need to make sure Black N Gold comes in off the ledge. So as a special treat, we will post an honorary tribute on CC's behalf with his insightful words after last weekend's wild card game.

(Keep in mind that CC lives in San Diego and loves his Chargers.)

CC on Eli Manning's performance against the Bucs:

"Perhaps yesterday's game was worthy of praise, but he will always be Jughead to me. I suppose expecting he would stand up to Dad and say San Diego wouldn't be all that bad a place to play, what with the Zoos and beaches and stuff, and let the draft chips fall where they may. In the end, the P. Rivers approach to the game is much more my style, so I suppose I should be thankful. A.J. Smith could probably be indicted for theft.

And did you hear the news? My Chargers get to face Eli's brother, who no doubt will be doing what he can to avenge the six-pick loss he particpated in out here earlier this season. Moving on won't be easy

Congrats to Giants fans everywhere. Good luck with the 'Boys."

Wow, my own headline. That's pretty cool. Yes, the name is a pseudonym, started on the Best Blog so as not to tip him off that I was writing the comments. No real reason for that, just thought it would be fun. It took him about a month to figure it out. The name is a play on a place in Alaska that we may have been to a time or two: http://www.koots.com/history.htm

Just got done with the work-week from Hell and am looking forward to some good games this weekend. I will be sweating out the showdown in Indy, but feel pretty good about the Chargers chances, even without Antonio Gates.

But what say you? Time to bust out that last prediction. And be sure to factor the classy LT into your prognostication (not the old LT with vice problems).
