Parcells waffles, deal with Falcons off

In a stunning development this afternoon, Bill Parcells is no longer in the running for the Falcons' top football administrator. wafflehouse.gif

Team owner Arthur Blank said in a statement that he had an agreement in principle with Parcells last night, and went to finalize the contract earlier today. But the deal fell apart when Parcells said he'd been in talks with the Dolphins.

Wow. What a turn of events.

Then again, if you've followed Parcells through his career, it's not all that surprising. He has flirted with teams in the past, only to reverse field and either pull out or take another job.

Stay tuned on this one folks. It's bound to get even more interesting in the coming days. Or hours.

Yeah, this sounds a lot like the Tampa Bay negotiations.

I guess Bill won't be getting many Home Depot gift cards this holiday season.
