If an NFL game fell in the forest ...

... and no one saw it, does it really count? forest.jpg

That's what I was asking myself this morning about last night's Redskins-Bears game at FedEx Field. The game was on the NFL Network, so we'll wait for Neil Best to tell us how few people saw the game.

No need to hang out with next-door neighbor Matt and his big-screen TV for this one, because it didn't have nearly the lure of last week's Packers-Cowboys game. I did admit to a few withdrawal tremors while watching ER with the Mrs., and it just wasn't the same having to check out NFL.com for updates.

Oh, well. One way or another, this NFL Network war with the cable companies will sort itself out, and the rest of us will have normal access to their games instead of having to barge in and steal the beer from our neighbors or head to the nearest saloon to get our football fix.

Oh, yeah. The Redskins beat the Bears 24-16 to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive. Both starting quarterbacks got hurt.
