Not everyone reads through all the comments on the blog, but we just had to draw attention to this story submitted by our own Black N Gold from a few posts back. He was talking about the era when the Steelers used to play at Pitt Stadium. Priceless.
"Quick story about the Pitt Stadium days. Where I grew up I had a neighbor whose father was a rough and tumble contractor who always had a bull dozer or two he was rebuilding on his property and always had a stogie in his mouth. This man used to go watch the Steelers at Pitt Stadium in the mid '60s. He and his brother purchased three season tickets - one for each of them and one that they used for the trash can full of beer and ice that they'd bring to the game.
My how things have changed."

I'm flattered.
Couple of other quick notes about old Pitt Stadium... It was set into the side of a mountain. So you could park on the streets above it and walk down into the bowl, or if you parked on campus you had to climb up the side of the mountain to get into it.
They knocked it down a few years ago and built the 'Peterson convocation center' (The "Pete") there. Now it's home to Pitt Basketball.
That's a great story.
B N G:
Imagine the story we'd get if you ever found that guy who nearly killed himself at Three Rivers Stadium in '85 climbing down the wire from the mezzanine while suspended 100 feet over the crowd.
Hey, wait, you think it's one of those guys from the Pitt Stadium story?
:)
