Jeff W., a highly respected editor of mine at Newsday, warns that we shouldn't go overboard on look-a-likes. We usually take Jeff's advice to heart, especially when it comes to matters concerning the newspaper. But he simply doesn't understand our intense fascination with look-a-likes. It's kind of like blogging. Once you start, you can't stop.

We initially rebuffed NKR on this choice, despite her breathless protestations. But the more we study it, the more we can accept the resemblance. Besides, Van Dyke once played an assistant coach on the highly popular sitcom, "Coach.")
