Look-a-likes: Parcells, Montgomerie, Walton

Jeff W., a highly respected editor of mine at Newsday, warns that we shouldn't go overboard on look-a-likes. We usually take Jeff's advice to heart, especially when it comes to matters concerning the newspaper. But he simply doesn't understand our intense fascination with look-a-likes. It's kind of like blogging. Once you start, you can't stop.

(Jeff P., our look-a-likes aficianado, has mentioned this one to us, but we've known about the Parcells-Montgomerie connection for years. Only now that we've been liberated by our blogging can we now share it with the world.)

(UPDATE: Jeff P. has eyeballed our Parcells-Montgomerie, and says we missed one. Bill Walton. Jeff, that's the beauty of blogging. If you miss it the first time, you just update it. Good call.)

(UPDATE 2: After further review, and much prodding from our own NKR, we have added a fourth member to this distinguished list - Jerry Van Dyke. We initially rebuffed NKR on this choice, despite her breathless protestations. But the more we study it, the more we can accept the resemblance. Besides, Van Dyke once played an assistant coach on the highly popular sitcom, "Coach.")

Just checked it out, NKR. Don't see it. Maybe the false teeth, but it's not close enough. This is an exact science, ya know.
