I really have to get to work now, but Jeff P. is on one of his look-a-like rolls, and it's tough to resist this one.

That's not fair, William Conrad drove around in a Lincoln Continental and had a personality... Mangino uses a golf cart, and well.... you be the judge
By the way... BG, if your're wondering how I know about Mangino's personality, try looking up where he's from :-)
You need to help me on this one, B N G. I see he went to Youngstown State, but that's as far back as his KU bio goes.
Would he be from ... say ... the Pittsburgh, Pa. area?
You think he was the one on the wire at that 1985 steelers-giants exhibition game, the guy who shimmied all the way from the mezzanine onto the field? You know this already, B N G, but for anyone new to this blog, my colleague from the New York Post, Hank Gola (now with the Daily News), called his editor to see if he wanted a story on this guy who was suspended about 100 feet above the crowd.
The editor replied: "Only if he dies."
BG,
That if it had been Mangino, that "wire" would have had to have been as think as one of the cables on the Golden Gate Bridge!
No, He was a high school coach (for one of myschools rivals - years after I graduated) in a Pittsburgh suburb. He then went on to coach at a very good (academically) private college in the same area. In fact, I hired two of his former players to work for me in the early 90's.
Checkout the Wikipedia entry on him.
For what it's worth, if your trying to get the dirt on any mid-profile public figure, Wikipedia is a good bet. :-)
In fact, maybe I should start a page on you :-)
Hey BNG, where did you attend High School? I went to Butler High. I see Mangino coached New Castle -- we hated them!
No, he was born in New Castle not coached there (Elwood City I guess)
BBiB,
North Allegheny... class of 1975. Goooooo Tigers! They have a shot at the WPIAL title again this year.
Butler huh? We used to compete against Butler in Swimming...they had one of the best natatoriums in the WPIAL.
Been trying to educate BG on how Pittsburgh is the 'hot bed' of football, but he's not buying :-) :-) :-)
BNG,
Besides agreeing on the Steelers, we can now both agree that North Hills sucks!
Hey, BNG and BBiB!
We're not interrupting you or anything, are we?
Not just the Indians, but some of their graduates like LaVar Arrington! :-)
Nah, Bob, you weren't interrupting us... but you are now :-)
BBiB, even better, I moved from NA to Hopewell/Aliquippa in the 90's. You know, home of Dorsett and Paul Posluszny, Ditka and Ty Law, and Sean Gilbert. But don't worry Bob, Pittsburgh isn't the hotbed of football. :-) :-)
