Just saw this link to a story that is sure to be the buzz of the sports world for the next ... oh, year or so. Barry Bonds has been indicted on obstruction of justice charges.
Kind of like how the Watergate saga began with a small item about a break-in at a Washington, D.C. hotel.

It's OK Bob...this story has been brewing for two-plus years, and today is the day that everyone has been waiting for. I don't think it will die down because outlets like ESPN will beat it to death, but astute sports fans already know that it has been beaten and will move on to other things, namely, the NFL and A-Rod (another beaten-down story).
I agree with you, Tom, but the rest of the civilized world will now chime in on this one. The non-sports fans who only hear about the bad things going on will be aghast that Mr. Bonds is now accused of lying and obstructing justice during his testimony about the use of performance enhancing drugs.
Never underestimate the power of the media to keep a story going for way too long.
At least we have Sundays and Monday nights in the NFL to keep us from going insane with all this nonsense.
And don't foget hockey. Rangers playing a good game tonight, even though it seems the refs are not on theirs.
I used to watch a Barry Bonds when I lived in Pittsburgh. It couldn't be the same guy though, the one I watched was a skinny little kid who couldn't even make a strong enough throw to the plate to get a cripple like Sid bream out. :-)
Move over Bonds! Hookslide used to make strong throws from the hole at short. Now he barely gets to the hole and can only rainbow it over. Since he weighs 30 lbs more, and has less hair, do you think he was ingesting the cream and the clear?
