Interesting comments from Tiki Barber on Michael Strahan's holdout, again from his Sirius Satellite Radio show:

"I'll tell you one thing. It’s not the money. The first thing that happened in New York was everybody said, ‘Oh, this is just a money play.’ As everybody in New York knows, I’m not sure how well it is known nationally but I’m sure it is, he went through a very high profile, very expensive divorce from his wife, Jean. And so everybody is saying, ‘Well, he needs the money now.’ And it’s completely not about the money. And I told Michael I wouldn’t get into the details of this too much but I’ll tell you it’s one of two things.

"One, his body is getting old. If you remember, he’s been hurt for the last three seasons with the pec, with the foot. So he genuinely doesn’t know if we wants to do it anymore. And second, he has opportunities like I did to go on and do the other things and that weighs heavily in a situation like Michael has. Lawrence Taylor never went to a camp. Michael Strahan is a 15 year vet, 35 years old. [He] will be okay if he decides to come back and play.”

More Tiki on Strahan:

"He has a great dilemma because obviously he wants to go out as a strong player and not be remembered for some of the issues he’s had with injuries the last couple of years, his pectoral muscle, his foot injury. I talked to him about a week and a half ago and he literally is on the fence. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do and so it’s hard to speculate until he makes that decision for himself. We’ll see. However it is, he’s an all-time great New York Giant. He’s a certain Hall of Famer.”
