Giants officials continue to be cautiously optimistic that Michael Strahan will return to the team before the end of the preseason, but it may be another week or so.
Indications are that Strahan will not report to the team before they break camp in Albany next Thursday, which would mean a likely return date of the following Monday.
Strahan continues to work out diligently on his own in southern California, and that because he keeps himself in such good shape, believes he can catch up reasonably quickly after missing so much time.
As for the fines he's accruing - a shade more than $14,000 per day - indications are the Giants will reduce the total levy if and when he does return. They're not likely to wipe out all the fines, simply because they want to make it clear that they did not approve of the holdout.
But if and when he does come back, Strahan will be back in the team's good graces.
We'll see if the fans feel the same way.

... but it's about the money.
What has Strahan done for us in the last 2 seasons? How long does it take to fly from CA to NJ? Thats how long I would give him to report - HE'S UNDER CONTRACT! Its bad enough that Eli has to play catch with his neighbors in the offseason because his WR's don't like the cold...I say, through the bum out... And you can print that!
"Through the bum out?"
C'mon, Wolf. Go to English class! ... and you can print that!
