Kevin Shaffer ready to start for Browns

Remember all the talk about the Giants going after Browns' offensive tackle Kevin Shaffer, who carped about wanting to get out of Cleveland after the team drafted Joe Thomas at No. 3 overall? Well, that speculation eventually died out, and now it's officially dead, because Shaffer is likely to be the team's starting right tackle. Starter Ryan Tucker just got hit with a four-game suspension for violating the league's steroids program.
