Portis iffy for Sunday

Coming off a bye week, Clinton Portis was unable to practice for the second consecutive day due to an MCL sprain. The pain increased Thursday and Friday. He can't straighten his left leg right now. Jim Zorn said Ladell Betts is a better bet to be active. Shaun Alexander and Rock Cartwright could split carries. Portis will try to practice later in the week. Remember, the Redskins play the Cowboys Sunday night, so if he's a game-time decision by the weekend, you will want to look elsewhere.
