Kerry Wood missed the All-Star Game because of a blister on his right index finger and it is expected that he will land on the DL today. The move will be made retroactive to July 12, which means Wood would miss just one week. It will be the 12th time in Wood's career he is placed on the disabled list. Carlos Marmol, owned in many leagues, will be the closer in Wood's place. Marmol had a 1.82 ERA after May, but has an 8.83 ERA in his last 20 appearances.
Also in Cubs news, Alfonso Soriano will start a rehab assignment today.
