Saito out at least six weeks

BY ADAM RONIS

Dodgers closer Takashi Saito will be out until at least late August with a sprained ligament in his right elbow. Saito, 38, will be placed on the disabled list on Friday. Jonathan Broxton will be the closer in Saito's place and should be picked up in all leagues. He has a 3.40 ERA and has 46 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings.

Adam, I recommended him up to cover Saito as well but the 9th inning's going to be an adventure more often than not.

Adam,

I lost Saito and Broxton is already on a team since Holds is a category in my league. I picked up Kobayashi to replace Saito. Other possibilites on waivers were Putz, Percival and Franklin. What do you think? Looks like Putz and Percival are back soon, Franklin has shaky #'s and Kobayashi seems ok if Cleveland can win a game.

Do you have another spot to grab the available guys? I think Franklin could eventually lose his job to Isringhausen and Putz and Percival are good, but health is a concern. You made the right choice for the moment, but monitor Putz and Percival closely and pick one up when they are close to returning. It's the second DL stint for both Putz and Percival, so that could spell trouble for this season.
