Bedard scratched from start

Erik Bedard was scratched from his start on Wednesday with tightness in his throwing shoulder. Bedard pitched on Friday and threw 99 pitches in five innings and allowed one run. He has not thrown more than 100 pitches in his last six starts. He is 6-4 with a 3.67 ERA in 15 starts. Miguel Batista will start in his place. Felix Hernandez could return at the end of the week.
