A-Ron's Fantasy Players of the Week

National League Offensive Player of the Week -- David Wright (Mets): He went 9-for-21 (.429) with four runs, three homers and eight RBIs.
American League Offensive Player of the Week -- Evan Longoria (Rays): He went 13-for-30 (.433) with seven runs, three homers, 10 RBIs and one stolen base.
National League Pitcher of the Week -- Dan Haren (Diamondbacks): Haren went 1-0 and didn't allow an earned run in 14 innings. He struck out 12 and had a 0.71 WHIP.
American League Pitcher of the Week -- Kevin Slowey (Twins): A very tough call this week, but Slowey gets the nod over two-win pitchers John Lackey and A.J. Burnett. Slowey went 1-0, including a three-hit shutout. He pitched 15 scoreless innings and allowed seven hits, walked none and struck out 15.

I need power in the worst way. Is Chris Davis my salvation?
If it's that bad, pick him up. He has a lot of power. He may strike out a lot, but the power is legit. The team is saying he will be sent down when Hank Blalock returns. Blalock has already had numerous setbacks, so there's no telling when he'll come back and if Davis keeps hitting, it will be difficult to send him down.
Should I even bother holding onto Emil Brown? He started off red hot, but has done absolutely nothing since. I want to snag Brett Gardner in my al only league, but since our waiver wire is a barron wasteland, I feel funny putting a player with 40 rbi's on it....just in case he gets hot.
My other alternative is Miguel Olivo or Ramon Hernandez, but they have been a solid catching combo for me.
What do you think all enlightened one?
I wouldn't worry about dumping Brown. He could get hot like he did in April, but he's not a good player. He had 21 RBIs in April and has done very little since. Gardner will steal bases and the Yankees brought him up to play. He's very fast and stole 131 bases in 158 attempts the past three seasons, including 34 this season to lead Triple-A. I wouldn't drop Hernandez or Olivo. The only thing is Gardner's stay could be brief. If you need the speed, do it because I'm sure Brown is likely on your bench right now.
