The Rockies placed outfielder Brad Hawpe and infielder Clint Barmes on the 15-day DL. Hawpe is out with a strained right hamstring and the move was made retroactive to May 21. Ryan Spilborghs should get most of the time and he's a good option while Hawpe is out.
Barmes is out with a sprained right knee. Omar Quintanilla will fill in at shortstop. Outfielder Seth Smith and third baseman Ian Stewart were also recalled.
