Friday fantasy wrap
BY ADAM RONIS
Maybe the Mets could play all their home games in Arizona. They seem to do much better there and on the road in general. Jose Reyes broke out with a single, double and two triples. Ryan Church hit a homer and had three RBIs. David Wright went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs. Even Carlos Delgado got two hits.
Chase Utley hit his 12th home run. Can a different Phillie get the MVP award for the third straight season? It seems like a high possibility.
Brian Wilson blew his second save of the season, allowing a two-run homer to Pat Burrell, his ninth of the season.
Mark Hendrickson improved to 5-1 for the Marlins. He has a 3.71 ERA. He has benefited from a weak schedule so far. He has a 19/12 K/BB ratio. I don't believe in him, but NL-only owners should stay with him while he is doing well.
I was at the Yankees game tonight and Erik Bedard pitched real well, but the defense made four errors behind him. Chien-Ming Wang was sharp also and improved to 6-0. He has a 3.00 ERA and he's striking out a lot more batters this season increasing his fantasy value. He had a cramp in his right hand and should be fine.
Edinson Volquez fell to 4-1, but he pitched well against the Braves. He went six innings, allowing four hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out nine. Tim Hudson was even better throwing a three-hit shutout with no walks and 10 strikeouts.
John Lannan had his streak of three great games in a row end. He allowed six runs and walked five in three innings. Stay away.
Scott Downs picked up his second save for the Blue Jays. B.J. Ryan pitched yesterday and has yet to pitch two consecutive days.
Hunter Pence is heating up. He hit his second and third homers. The chance to buy low is whittling away.
Rich Hill has had major control problems. His last start was skipped and he was removed after getting just two outs in the first inning. He walked four and allowed one run. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sent down to work on his control.
Jason Isringhausen blew his third save and has been awful lately. His ERA is 7.11.
Russell Martin started at third base tonight.

Better for the rest of this year: Owings or Marcum?
I own both of them and even after lasts night pounding of the Mets I think Owings will have the lower ERA playing in the NL but all other numbers will be close.. Who knows it's close to being a push but lets see what Adam thinks, he's the pro...
I think they are even. I don't see much difference, but if I had to give a slight edge, I'd go with Marcum. He has allowed just 24 hits in 40 innings and he has pitched at least 6 2/3 innings in five of his six starts. He also had a great stretch last season. Owings is more hittable, although I do like him too and own both in one league.
On an unrelated note, the next time you see Ryan Zimmerman, will you punch him in the nuts for me? Thanks.
