I labeled Mike Lowell as a bust and overvalued player before the draft, but he has been worse than I even thought. He did have a DL stint, but to hit where he does and have no RBIs, that's right none, after 54 at-bats is mind-boggling. He is hitting .204.
Jimmy Rollins hopes to return on Thursday following a brief rehabilitation stint.
Kevin Slowey will come off the DL and start on Thursday.
Chone Figgins had an MRI on his hamstring that revealed a slight sprain. He is day-to-day. Howie Kendrick is expected to return from the DL today.
Max Scherzer might get just a few starts. When Doug Davis returns from his surgery for thyroid cancer, Scherzer will likely head to the bullpen. Scherzer threw 119 1/3 innings last season and the Diamonbacks don't want him to go beyond 30 innings more than that this season.
With Ian Kennedy being demoted to Triple-A and Phil Hughes on the DL, Darrell Rasner was called up to start yesterday and Kei Igawa could be the next pitcher called up to start for the Yankees. He gave up four runs in seven innings in Triple-A yesterday.
Bronson Arroyo was awful yesterday and the Reds are concerned that he might be injured. He says he feels fine, but somehow Homer Bailey will be called up soon.

i finally dropped Mike Lowell last week because i couldn't wait for him to produce. hopefully you're right bc he finally hit a HR tonight. knowing my luck, he'll hit 25 HRs and drive in another 110 this year.
