Welcome aboard

BY ADAM RONIS

Welcome to the debut of the fantasy baseball blog. I am a fantasy baseball nut, winning numerous leagues over the past few seasons. I play in auction leagues, head-to-head and roto. I am also planning on participating in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship Super League with an entry fee of $2,500, 15 teams and 30 rounds, so yes I am a very serious player.

I'll be here to analyze the latest news in fantasy baseball, recommend waiver wire pickups and provide advice, as long as you don't participate in my league. Feel free to ask questions and give me some props when I help you win your league.

It's about time Newsday started a blog for Fantasy Baseball. I gotta admit this should of been done years ago but hey, its here and it should be very good....

I also think the paper should dedicate some print space for fantasy baseball articles daily starting at about the time pitchers and catchers report or if not daily than at the very minimum Once a week all the way through the season.

I would love to sit in a meeting with the Newsday editors and just explain to them how important fantasy sports has become for the millions of players out there.. Its time for someone to stand up for this phenomenon that will never slow down. There is no ceiling as to where this will go...

It's nice to know that I'll be reading a serious players blog. I got a question tho, I have Matt Cain, should I trade him straight up for Rich Hill?

I like both guys. I give Hill a slight edge because he's on a better team, but that doesn't always translate to wins. Hill pitched well last season and only won 11 games. You can make the deal.

I have Kerry Wood, Kevin Gregg, Jon Broxton and Pat Neshek as my RPs. I only have 6 saves, what should i do?

I got Cano for Quentin...was that good

Yes, that is a very good deal. Cano will heat up at some point like he did last season.

Adam,

My league is Yahoo H2H with 16 teams and 1 starter for all 9 positions. 3 SP 2RP and 2P. 20 players per team. It should be noted that I'm in third while winning only once in the saves category. I figured that if i can win w/o them i might as well stack up on the other categories.

Here's my original post:
I have the option to get Solomon Torres and Carlos Marmol for Kevin Gregg and Christian Guzman. Guzman has been riding my bench b/c I have Carlos guillen.Should I make the trade. I've given up on immediate saves b/c I traded away Kerry Wood but I'm trying to stockpile on future saves w/ Broxton, Casilla and now maybe Torres and Marmol. Is that a good strategy considering I have a dominant lineup and SP

A-Ron,

I have Keppinger on my team. He fractured his kneecap. I already have Vernon wells on the DL, should i drop Kepp and pick up Ramon Vazquez. My other infielders are LaRoche, Cano, Carlos Guillen and Youkilis.
