Pat Summitt injured shoulder while chasing Rocky Raccoon
Raccoons are really cool when you see them in kiddie zoos. But they make lousy neighbors. Just ask Pat Summitt.

Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt had offseason shoulder surgery, not for a sports injury but because of a tussle with a raccoon.
The winningest basketball coach in NCAA history had problems with her right shoulder after dislocating it while chasing a raccoon poised to attack her Labrador. The attack came near her home on March 5, just days before the Southeastern Conference tournament.
A month later, Summitt guided the Lady Vols to their eighth NCAA title.
Summitt had arthroscopic surgery Thursday in Knoxville, Tenn., to repair recurring instability problems.
The coach will begin rehab in about a week. Tennessee begins practice on Oct. 17.
Now for the irony/coincidence segment of our show. Shortly before setting up this story for The Final Score I went outside to pick up my Newsday - and the garbarge strewn all over the driveway by my own friendly neighborhood raccoon.

Don't be so sure.
It could have easily been any member of The Final Score Nation looking for a photo.
